Friends of the 17-year-old contestant say that her father has been approached by Rihanna's scouts with a view to arranging a meeting in Los Angeles.
Rachel, who on Saturday survived her second consecutive sing-off on the TV talent show, will be free to seek out her own deals with record labels if she doesn't make it into the X Factor's last four contestants, who are bound by a pre-signed agreement with Sony.
"Rachel is hugely excited. She couldn't believe there was that level of interest in her. She loves Rihanna and even modelled her looks and hairdo on her," a friend told The Sun.
Her close friend Alexandra Burke, who won X Factor last year, has already dubbed Rachel 'the British Rihanna', and has reportedly put in a good word with record chiefs.
"Alex has been instrumental, and vouched for Rachel's talent and capability", said the source.
"It's not a done deal by any means, but it would be a huge break. Rachel's very nervous about working with such big stars."
