TOY STORY 3 crosses $1 Billion Worldwide; Second Disney Film to Do So This Year
With the help of inflated ticket prices and 3D, Disney has scored its second billion-dollar hit this year with Toy Story 3. The studio has sent out a press release announcing its good fortune. Two weeks ago, Toy Story 3 became the highest-grossing animated movie of all time. Today, the worldwide box office for the film is expected to cross $1 billion. The first film to cross the billion-dollar mark for Disney this year was Tim Burtons Alice in Wonderland. I would like to say that Toy Story 3 being a good movie also helped its box office fortunes, but then you have Alice and I think we have to give a lot of the credit to higher ticket prices.
